I'm an award-winning digital journalist and writer, as well as a social media manager and marketing director, who has worked in professional newsrooms since my first internship in 2017. For seven years, I've explored all corners of digital media, starting in my local newsroom's back office as an intern and later reporting for national outlets like NPR. I've written features for state-wide outlets like The Denver Post and managed social media and digital operations for Iowa Public Radio and local nonprofits. I'm a 2022 graduate of The University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication.Get to know me and see my work below!
A little intro to who I am and what I can do!
My written work has been published in NPR, The Denver Post, Iowa Public Radio and The Daily Iowan.
I'm passionate about growing and maintaining new audiences through innovative, data-informed strategy. My work in SEO coaching has brought measurable results to the teams I've worked with, and I continue to expand my expertise in this area. Below I've linked one of my audience engagement initiatives and data visualizations.
In addition to launching a successful TikTok account for Iowa Public Radio and pivoting social strategy to a heavy investment in short-form video, I've worked professionally across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (X), Bluesky, LinkedIn, and Threads for IPR, NPR, a local nonprofit called The Fashion Circuit, and The Des Moines Community Playhouse.
I am skilled and experienced in developing and maintaining media connections, as well as writing press release and copy. My background as a journalist means I am uniquely equipped with the ability to frame company announcements as compelling, newsworthy narratives.
I've had a hand in writing, producing and editing all of Iowa Public Radio's award-winning newsletters.
I have a passion for fashion writing, and started a fashion blog on Substack and accompanying social media presence in 2024. I focus on trend commentary, fashion news and style tips for petite women.
